Well, for me as a newbie, I can say good riddance. I am constantly watching the toolbar quork? I installed to see everybody’s rank. And can’t say I’m happy when one of my sites doesn’t even get ranked at all. I think I would rather have 0 of 10 than none.

hey Anne,
I’m not sure when the last time I looked at my blog’s PR was, but I don’t think it’s very impressive.
I think google might stop showing it, but I think they will always use it as one of many factors. They need some way to differentiate between a link from CNN and a link from a spammy directory nobody has ever heard of.
That said, I think the best thing to do is ignore it and let other people waste their energy worrying about it.

Oh Google PR is just one of the site metrics. I’m sure if PR is removed people will find other things to obsess over. Alexa ranking is a popular candidate.

They can’t take it away now. I’m still getting a grip on my obsession with the damn thing. ROFLMAO.
Anyway it doesn’t really affect search engine traffic and as your rightly said in the article No more stupid replies from webmasters/bloggers who won’t exchange links with you because “your blog is only PR2 and mine is PR4″.

I had a post about this but I am sure it is hard to remove PR at least from Toolbar, it is Google’s brand and no more to build up backlinks, a lot of SEO companies go to the hell

I would rather they keep it regardless of how useful or useless some bloggers might think Google Page Rank is, I feel it’s a piece of the pie. I’ve been listening to rumors about Google PR going bye-bye for a long time now, most recently I heard about it like four days before the last update.

PR have no importance to me. I only concentrate to improve my SERP. But, it will be good if Google vanish it, at least some of the peoples then can sleep well.

Yeah, I can imagine a world where I don’t know the PR of my sites.. hell, I don’t know what it is for most of my sites already. Who cares? Good organic rankings get the traffic, not PR.
